Atiya Y. Perkins is a Keynote Speaker, Trainer, and Coach. She is also a wife, a mother, and a grandmother who happens to be an Educational Leader with 20 years of experience, and is currently serving as a middle school principal in New Jersey. In her role as a school leader, she established multiple initiatives that positively impacted the entire school community. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Elementary Education and Psychology as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University. Atiya completed John Maxwell’s Team Leadership advanced certification program and holds additional certifications as a Youth Trainer, Life Coach, Behavioral Analysis Trainer, Behavioral Analysis Consultant, and Mentor for the NJ State-approved comprehensive mentoring and inclusion program for new school leaders.

Atiya’s educational training and life experiences have provided her with highly effective leadership qualifications however, teaching and empowerment are natural traits she possesses.  Her training and professional learning communities provide practical strategies for participants to explore their thinking and barriers of limiting beliefs related to their leadership development.  She is known for leading with the mindset to always do what is best for those she leads.  Atiya’s influence is visible with how she “walks the talk,” in her leadership walk, but it is her actions people connect with because actions speak louder than words. Atiya is vibrant, dynamic and engages her audience thoroughly.

Atiya provides critical challenges and support to individuals or entire organizations.  The vision of her company, Atiya Y. Perkins is for leaders to be the best versions of themselves by reflecting Why they are in leadership, and then having the courage to admit when they need help overcoming leadership obstacles that are affecting those they lead. The mission: Equip leaders in education with Perks to rise to the next level of influence that is easy to model and transfer to those they lead.  Her company also provides insight on how to understand what motivates individuals and get clarification on how their personality/behavioral style affects their ability to relate, communicate and connect with others using a personality/behavioral assessment.
